Sophie's Fire, a historical novel based on the life of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, is finally available for purchase on Amazon.com.

Written by Connie Solari, an English teacher at Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton, the book traces Sophie's life from her birth in Joigny in 1779 to the celebrations of her 50th Jubilee in Rome and Paris.  The book is for lovers of Sophie as well as fans of European history, Catholic Church history and spirituality, and gender politics.  The book has received advance praise from journalist (and S.H. alum) Cokie Roberts, Sr. Kathleen Hughes, former U.S. Provincial, and Dr. Robert Pogue Harrison, professor of French and Italian literature at Stanford University.
