Schools of the Sacred Heart at Grand Coteau is comprised of the Academy of the Sacred Heart, a single-gender school for girls, and Berchmans Academy of the Sacred Heart, a single-gender school for boys. Located in a rural area of southwest Louisiana on a campus of 255 acres, the school enjoys a rich history with an ever evolving tradition of excellence in education. The school is the second oldest school or college in Louisiana. Because earlier foundations of Sacred Heart schools in France and in Missouri were closed for periods of time, Schools of the Sacred Heart enjoys the distinction of being the oldest Sacred Heart school in continuous existence world-wide.

In addition to offering single-gender education from PreK 3 through Grade 12 for both genders, the school operates a boarding school for girls in Grades 7-12 and an equestrian program that includes both English and Western Pleasure riding.
