Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart is an independent, Catholic, college-preparatory high school for girls in grades 9-12 and operates a preschool for boys and girls. Duchesne was established in Omaha in 1881 and is one of 22 Network of Sacred Heart Schools in the United States. Duchesne Academy emphasizes studies that nurture the desire for truth. Critical thinking and reasoning, imagination and creativity are essential tools for this process of learning. Duchesne strives to give each student a sense of dinity and self-worth and the school is characterized by an atmosphere of faith and mutual trust and a Christ-like concern for each person and the world we live in.
